Buffalo River Watershed Alliance
Comment Period Extended for Draft Impaired Waters List, until 4:30 pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Click here for current information.
In response to numerous complaints of erroneous email addresses for submitting comments as well as unavailability of 303(d)data on the ADEQ website, ADEQ has extended the deadline for written comments.
The National Park Service has recommended that Big Creek should be declared "impaired" due to low dissolved oxygen levels and that it should be added to the 303(d) list for impaired waters of Arkansas. Read the NPS letter to ADEQ here.
ADEQ has, without explanation, declined to include Big Creek and another impaired Buffalo tributary, Mill Creek.
We encourage those interested in protecting the pristine quality of the Buffalo National River to submit comments and let your concerns be known. Click here to see comments submitted by BRWA and others and the address for submitting your comments.
