PC&EC to Hold August Meeting via Zoom on August 27
NORTH LITTLE ROCK—In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a state of emergency has been declared for the State of Arkansas. During this critical time, the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment (E&E) and the Pollution Control and Ecology Commission (PC&EC) are taking precautions to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Accordingly, the PC&EC meeting originally scheduled for Friday, August 28, 2020, will be now be held via Zoom video conferencing starting at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2020.
The PC&EC August agenda includes a report from the Director of the Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ), a request from DEQ that the PC&EC vote to adopt proposed rulemaking changes for Rule 23, and a request to vote and approve two members of the Arkansas Wastewater Licensing Committee. The Commission’s Nominations Committee will also meet via Zoom approximately fifteen minutes before the regular Commission meeting to discuss nominations for Chair and Vice- Chair. The Commission’s agenda, including links to various documents associated with the agenda items, has been made available online at: https://www.adeq.state.ar.us/commission/agenda.aspx for the public to view in advance of the meeting.
Due to the August meeting being conducted via Zoom, persons wanting to make a public comment must email their comments prior to the meeting to comment@adeq.state.ar.us. Public comments received before 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, will be provided to PC&EC prior to its Thursday, August 27, 2020, meeting. The PC&EC meeting will be live-streamed on Arkansas PBS at: https://www.myarkansaspbs.org/arcan/home.
