Buffalo River Watershed Alliance
The final draft Buffalo River Watershed Management Plan (Plan) has been uploaded to the following website:

The draft Plan will be available for stakeholder review until January 15, 2018, and subsequently submitted to EPA for acceptance. EPA “accepts” the plan as opposed to “approving” it because there are no proposed mandatory regulations in this plan. Following EPA acceptance, the watershed management plan will be available to guide implementation of management practices and activities within the Buffalo River watershed.
Please keep in mind that this is not a “formal regulatory comment process” because the Watershed Plan is not a “regulatory” document. The recommendations it contains are strictly voluntary.
The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission sincerely appreciates the citizens who attended the four meetings in Marshall and Jasper during the past 12 months and all the organizations and individuals who provided comments to help with the Plan’s development.
