The link and public notice below, published on May 25, 2016, regards the application by C&H Hog Farms for a Regulation 5 No-Discharge permit. The link states that the application is "administratively complete" meaning that all necessary documents have been submitted. A public hearing may be requested by June 3 to submit public comments on administrative completeness. BRWA is considering requesting such a hearing. Pending results of a possible public hearing, ADEQ would then begin a technical review of the permit, typically requiring 90 days, and this would be followed by a 30-day public comment period on technical aspects of the application. BRWA will keep supporters informed.
Notice of Application
for New No-Discharge Permit 5264-W
Under the provisions of Act 163 of the 1993 Arkansas Legislature, this is to give notice that the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Office of Water Quality received an application on April 7, 2016, for a no-discharge permit, Permit No. 5264-W, for an existing sow farrowing operation with coverage under NPDES General Permit ARG590000. The applicant is requesting an administrative change to an individual no-discharge permit pursuant to APC&EC Regulation 5. The permit application was submitted by the following applicant:

The barns and holding ponds under consideration are located as follows: Section 26 Township 15N Range 20W, near the community of Vendor in Newton County, Arkansas. The land application sites are located in Newton County.
