Write the Governor tell him to support THE PROPOSED BAN TO PREVENT ANY FUTURE MEDIUM AND LARGE SWINE CAFOs in the BUFFALO RIVER WATERSHED.The recent favorable ruling for the Buffalo National river is a victory BUT NOT THE FINISH LINE! This victory still allows the current hog factory farm to continue operations until a new environmental assessment is done which could be up to a year. What the new environmental assessment brings remains to be seen.

Meanwhile Arkansas regulations could allow more such operations in the Buffalo River Watershed. Imagine what the proliferation of these large swine operations could do to in sensitive karst terrain such as the Buffalo River Watershed.

Therefore, we need to write our new governor of Arkansas and our legislators to SUPPORT THE PROPOSED BAN TO PREVENT ANY FUTURE MEDIUM AND LARGE SWINE CAFOs in the BUFFALO RIVER WATERSHED.
