Buffalo River Alliance to Host Event Detailing Dangers of Hog Farms Near Buffalo National River: Arkansas Can Learn from the Swine Problems of North Carolina

The Buffalo River Watershed Alliance presents Waterkeepers Rick Dove, Don Webb, Larry Baldwin and Kelly Foster.  

Rick Dove, nationally acclaimed speaker, Neuse Riverkeeper Emeritus and a founding Director of the Waterkeeper Alliance, will speak from his personal experience in studying the effects of hog CAFOs. Don Webb, a former North Carolina industrialized hog farmer (CAFO) owner, will accompany Mr. Dove as a speaker at this event and will share his experience in the industry. Don is well known for his human-interest accounts presented as a part of Willie Nelson’s Farm Aid tours.  Larry Baldwin, the North Carolina CAFO Coordinator for Waterkeeper® Alliance and former Neuse Riverkeeper, will speak about the CAFO issues in North Carolina from an investigative point of view and how those issues relate to the Buffalo National River.  

Fayetteville is the first stop in Arkansas. Other stops include Jasper, Harrison, Little Rock,  Mountain Home, Yellville, and Harrison..
